His Forbidden Princess

This was the first book I have read in the Royal Holiday series as well as it is the first time I have read a book written by Jeannie Moon. His Forbidden Princess is a short novel which provides you both with a fairy tale feeling and a suspense atmosphere. What I personally enjoyed about the book was the joy Princess Sofia felt in the simple things in life such as Twinkies and the ability of Ian to go from an alpha male who is in charge to a sweet and soft lover. Due to the novel being short, there was a lack of character development in both of the main leads, I also felt there were quite a few things that were left unexplained and could have been elaborated on. I do give credit to Jeannie for a good plot, but if she extended the book a bit more and spent more time on the chemistry and love story between Sofia and Ian, it would have been a much better book.

Plot
Eight years ago, while at Cambridge, ex-army
ranger Ian Stuart falls in love with his sweet classmate Sofia. Sofia had
hidden one important fact from Ian which was that she was the Princess of a
small European country called Aubonne. Sofia's mother finds out about their
relationship and immediately takes Sofia back home leaving both Ian and Sofia
heartbroken.
Now eight years later, in the
United States, Princess Sofia's life is in danger due to the rebels causing
unrest in her country. It is now up to Special Agent Ian Stuart to take
her into hiding and protect her. Ian and Sofia are forced to stay together
while trying to fight their feelings towards each other.
