Coerced: Blackmailed by the Billionaire (Buchanan Romance #1)

Coerced: Blackmailed by the Billionaire

I am generally a fan of the Fifty Shades types of books, but this book was a huge disappointment as it was unable to hold my attention and lacked a story line. It was my first time reading a book by Alexx Andria and I did not enjoy the third person POV style of writing because it did not allow the reader to connect with the characters. I absolutely hated Sutton's character because he was not an alpha male or a gentlemen he was just a spoiled asshole who is used to getting whatever he wanted and I could not stand what a prick he was to Elizabeth especially when it came to cheating on her. Elizabeth's character was okay because she was able to stand up to Sutton sometimes, but she also did get annoying when she let him have his way after he cheated and then she was willing to forgive him because of an expensive holiday. The chemistry between them was good, but this booked seemed only about the sex and not about the story or characters because the reader barely got to know the characters background stories and the reasons behind their insecurities. I also felt that the book was rushed towards the end which was very irritating. Overall this was a disappointing read of one of my favorite genres and I definitely would not be reading the rest of the series.

Rating: 2/5

Plot

Sutton Buchanan is a spoiled rich billionaire who will stop at nothing to get what he wants, including the curvy blonde artist he runs into at his newly acquired gallery.

Elizabeth Downing is a shy struggling artist who is desperate to save her disabled sister from losing her home. After Elizabeth's art is rejected by the Covington Museum, Sutton takes the opportunity to proposition her.

Sutton makes the shocking offer that no decent man would ever make, but he never pretended to be good.  Sutton is now going to own Elizabeth's body and soul and he is going to push the shy artist past all her limits. The one promise Sutton has made to himself is that he wont make the same mistake as his cousins and fall in love with his plaything. Elizabeth is going to learn that the words love and sorry are not in Sutton's dictionary.
